Technical Program Manager, Robotaxi

Location: Hybrid role based in the Yokohama/Tokyo, Japan office, with time spent in offices and workshops as well as working from home.

What you will do

• Own robotaxi program delivery from vehicle and fleet readiness through launch and in-market scaling.
• Manage dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and delivery metrics across autonomy, vehicle software, hardware, operations, and safety.
• Coordinate global R&D, engineering, fleet operations, safety, local partners, and Japanese delivery teams.
• Provide hands-on support for robotaxi launches and in-market operations in Yokohama.
• Support local vehicle hardware and software programs and run planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Communicate progress and risks to engineers, partners, and senior leaders while improving delivery processes and tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading complex, multi-team programs or an equivalent record of delivery.
• Technical credibility across software and hardware, with the ability to reason about AI Driver systems operating on real vehicles.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, dependency management, risk management, and metrics-driven decision-making.
• Exceptional written communication and collaboration skills, including influencing distributed teams across time zones without formal authority.
• Experience working across geographies and cultures, with a hands-on approach to vehicles and operations in Japan.
• Systems thinking, adaptability in ambiguous safety-critical environments, and a product-minded focus on outcomes.

Nice to have

• Robotaxi, autonomous vehicle operations, fleet, mobility, ride-hailing, or automotive experience.
• Experience launching or scaling an in-market service and working across global and local teams.
• Exposure to machine learning, autonomy, or other compute-heavy and safety-critical domains.
• Japanese language skills.
• Engineering or computer science degree, or professional engineering experience.
