Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Devices): Designing and developing mechanical and electromechanical medical products from concept through prototyping, verification, manufacturing transfer, and released-product support with an accent on precision mechanical design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability. Focus on leading root-cause investigations, optimizing product reliability and manufacturability, and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities in a medical-device environment.

What you will do
- Lead mechanical engineering activities across research and technology, new product development, and released product engineering.
- Design mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, mechanisms, and systems, including 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform tolerance stack-up, GD&T, predictive engineering, and other analyses to optimize performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Plan and support prototype builds, engineering testing, verification and validation, and qualification of fixtures, jigs, and tools.
- Lead technical investigations and root-cause analysis for design, manufacturing, testing, production, and field issues.
- Drive product lifecycle activities, design transfer, engineering changes, and collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, quality, systems, test, and electrical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a PhD.
- Strong experience designing and developing precision-machined parts, sheet metal components, plastics, mechanisms, and mechanical assemblies.
- Practical knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, design for manufacturability, and design verification.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as CREO and SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes and experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Medical device development experience and familiarity with relevant standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Experience with PLM systems, engineering change processes, design controls, risk management, electrical motors, pneumatic systems, wiring and cabling, process validation, equipment qualification, pFMEA, lean manufacturing, 5S, or structured root-cause analysis.
