Service Technician 1 (Natural Gas)

What you will do

• Respond to customer service requests, including connections and disconnections, and explain required repairs.
• Install, program, operate, and maintain Wireless Meter Reading equipment; read meters and record usage when required.
• Support natural gas and other emergency response activities, including stand-by duty and emergency call-outs.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for company and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and report safety and encroachment issues and safely operate and inspect assigned vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license meeting company standards.
• Complete required Service Learning Path classes, Operator Qualifications, on-the-job training, safety training, and certifications.
• Ability to communicate basic factual information with internal and external customers.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 53 pounds, walk 500 feet, and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, ladder, roof, attic, under-house, and confined-space work.
• Pre- and post-employment drug testing, DOT and PHMSA screenings, and motor vehicle record checks are required.
