What you will do

• Lead the APAC Life & Health Contracts function within the Chief Underwriting Officer’s organization.
• Direct contract drafting, review, negotiation, and analysis for reinsurance agreements.
• Ensure contractual terms reflect underwriting intent and provide recommendations on wording, deal structure, and risk trade-offs.
• Own deviation governance, global contracting standards, documentation rigor, and decision traceability across the region.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of nine Contracts Specialists across multiple APAC markets.
• Drive adoption of contracting workflow tools and responsible GenAI-enabled drafting and review practices.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in Life & Health reinsurance contracting, including substantial drafting and negotiation of reinsurance agreements.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to articulate contractual risk trade-offs.
• Proven people leadership experience in a regulated and complex reinsurance environment.
• Ability to lead and develop a multi-location team of nine professionals across Asia.
• Decisive, commercially pragmatic leadership style with the confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively.
• Experience driving workflow modernization and technology-enabled change; legal qualification is preferred.
