Head of Electrical Engineering (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Sydney, Australia

Salary: £250,000–£300,000 per annum

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering execution across a growing portfolio of AI Factory developments.
• Own technical governance, design assurance, deviation management, standards, templates, and change control.
• Oversee MV/LV distribution, UPS, generation, protection, earthing, and power quality systems.
• Lead tender reviews, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, handover, and technical assurance.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, operations, engineering, utilities, regulators, vendors, consultants, and EPC contractors.
• Lead and develop distributed electrical engineering teams across Australia, Indonesia, and future operating regions.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong data centre or mission-critical infrastructure background.
• Deep expertise in MV/LV power systems, UPS, generation, protection, relay coordination, and earthing.
• Experience with load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, and transient analysis.
• Proven leadership across multi-site or international programmes, including design governance and commissioning.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Power Systems preferred.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of APAC electrical standards and operating environments.
• Experience in high-availability infrastructure and large-scale AI Factory development.
