Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia; work in the Norfolk office and travel to other practice locations as needed

Virginia Oncology Associates is a multisite oncology practice focused on cancer care and blood disorders in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement organizational policies, procedures, objectives, systems, and controls.
  • Lead non-clinical operations supporting patient scheduling, documentation readiness, access processes, and administrative workflows.
  • Oversee centralized patient access, appointment scheduling, medical records operations, and diagnostic testing coordination.
  • Ensure consistent operational support and effective coordination between administrative and clinical teams across locations.
  • Prepare management reports, identify workflow challenges, and implement improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
  • Lead and develop supervisory staff while supporting practice-wide growth initiatives and new programs or locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field; relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least seven years of healthcare management experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in multisite medical practice operations is preferred; oncology experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, collaboration, change-management, and operational-improvement skills.
  • Ability to travel to different practice sites as needed.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with frequent contact with patients and the public.
