Laboratory Assistant (Clinical Laboratory)

Location: Lenexa, Kansas, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. On-site laboratory work, Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.

What you will do

• Receive, examine, accession, label, store, retrieve, and prepare specimens for testing or shipment.
• Enter and maintain sample information in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Resolve sample and testing discrepancies with clients and complete correction requests.
• Operate assigned front-end processing automation equipment and support laboratory cleaning activities.
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance records while following laboratory safety, SOP, and regulatory requirements.
• At higher levels, manage issues and projects, supervise and mentor associates, support scheduling, and coordinate daily laboratory workflow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience; data entry experience is preferred.
• Comfort with raw specimen handling and the ability to follow SOPs, operating instructions, and company policies.
• Intermediate proficiency with PC-based software and database skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work around biological and hazardous materials, and lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
