Software Engineer Intern

Location: On-site in San Diego, California; Washington, DC; Dallas, Texas; or Seattle, Washington

What you will do

• Build web, mobile, or desktop features and internal tools for mission-planning and fleet-management workflows.
• Develop and debug embedded C/C++ code for flight controllers and sensor modules.
• Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and support embedded system bring-up.
• Train, evaluate, and integrate machine learning models into autonomy pipelines.
• Extend platform tools, APIs, and data pipelines for autonomy software, simulation, or cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, including C, C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience writing, testing, and debugging code through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile or web frameworks, full-stack development, embedded systems, microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, or assembly-level debugging.
• Coursework or projects in machine learning, statistics, probability, or deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with cloud platforms, databases, networking, distributed systems, or Agile/Scrum.
• Internship, research, club, or competition experience in robotics, autonomy, aerospace, defense, or autonomous systems.
