Systems Engineering Intern (Space Systems)

Location: Long Beach, California; full-time onsite work for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027

What you will do

• Support the Space Systems Division in developing Assembly Integration and Test sequences.
• Work with systems engineers supporting satellite design development and issue resolution.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical challenges.
• Collaborate with mentors, supervisors, and cross-functional teams while providing progress updates.
• Participate in technical talks and professional events with interns and employees.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Have at least three months of applied engineering experience through internships, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Be able to work full-time onsite in Long Beach for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.
• For work in U.S. offices, meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least six months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with spacecraft or test hardware.
• Experience developing and running test scripts for space hardware.
• Experience debugging hardware issues on development hardware.
