Senior Full Stack UX Engineer (WebGL)

Location: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in an hirify.global office. Role locations include Pittsburgh, PA; Mountain View, CA; and Seattle, WA.

Salary: $162,000–$260,000 per year for roles based in Seattle and Mountain View; $146,000–$234,000 per year for roles based in Pittsburgh. Additional annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are available.

What you will do

• Lead the full feature lifecycle for mapping systems, from architecture design through backend and user interface implementation.
• Architect and develop responsive, geospatially distributed backend services and data pipelines for complex map data.
• Build modern WebGL-based web applications that turn complex datasets into intuitive mapping products.
• Develop systems for map creation, validation, geospatial label creation, data repair, and reconstruction.
• Shape the technical direction and roadmap, mentor engineers, and improve system architecture, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with delivery teams, operations stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to improve mapping efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software development experience owning complex features from design through deployment.
• Deep full-stack expertise with scalable backend services and complex WebGL applications using React or Angular.
• Experience with API design, geometric algorithms in Python, cloud infrastructure, AWS, Kubernetes, Buildkite, CI/CD, and monitoring or alerting systems.
• Strong UX judgment, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and product ownership.
• Ability to work from an hirify.global office at least 3 days per week in an eligible U.S. location.

Nice to have

• UX design experience for safety-critical or mission-critical applications.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience scaling workflows and pipelines.
