Summer Associate Internship (Business Intelligence Analyst)

Location: Onsite at 820 Follin Ln SE, Vienna, VA 22180, United States. Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $26.44–$46.88 per hour

What you will do

• Create, update, and enhance reports, dashboards, KPI visualizations, and business intelligence deliverables.
• Analyze member data to identify trends, patterns, correlations, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Support report automation, ETL processes, data pipelines, source tables, curated datasets, and semantic model modernization.
• Prepare and transform data by cleaning, joining, shaping, and modeling large-scale datasets.
• Develop reusable, AI-ready data assets and explore Power BI Copilot, Databricks Genie, Tableau AI, natural-language analytics, and automated insight summaries.
• Collaborate with business leaders, BI analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and communicate findings through reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Experience building Power BI semantic or Tableau data models, including fact and dimension tables, relationships, and DAX measures.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, statistical methods, forecasting, mathematical techniques, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Experience using SQL, PySpark, Python, or R to explore, transform, and model data in Databricks, including relational databases, data pipelines, metadata, or AI-ready data structures.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets such as Delta, partitioned tables, or Spark, including independently joining, cleaning, and shaping source data.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into completed reports, dashboards, analyses, and clear specifications with limited guidance.

Nice to have

• Ability to explain analytical results clearly to non-technical and leadership audiences.
• Documentation experience covering KPI definitions, metric logic, model assumptions, data lineage, and business definitions.
• Experience applying AI responsibly to analytics workflows and validating AI-generated outputs.
• Familiarity with GitHub, version control, reproducible work, Tableau, or small analytical project coordination.
