Summer Associate Internship (Internal Communications Specialist)

Location: Hybrid, Vienna, VA or Pensacola, FL, United States. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $26.44–$46.88 per hour

What you will do

• Develop communication plans for Security organization initiatives.
• Write and edit long- and short-form employee-facing content.
• Create newsletters, graphics, short-form videos, and other visual assets.
• Coordinate with security subject matter experts, business units, Marketing, Human Resources, and executive leaders.
• Manage project timelines, milestones, and deadlines for a 6–8 week pilot program.
• Measure audience engagement and present outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations to Security leadership.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Experience writing and editing long- and short-form print and video content.
• Strong storytelling, messaging, copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in audit, risk management, compliance, internal controls, or cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with COSO, NIST, FFIEC, ISO 27001, or COBIT frameworks.
• Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance concepts.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar data analysis tools.
• Interest in internal audit, compliance, risk management, security governance, or cybersecurity careers.
