Communications Associate (Fusion Energy)

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year

What you will do

• Support internal communications and tell the stories of the people and work across the company.
• Create, draft, edit, and coordinate communications content for employees, candidates, and colleagues.
• Manage communications projects, systems, vendors, logistics, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with People, Talent, Facilities, and Engineering leaders.
• Help build scalable communications processes and keep a growing organization informed and connected.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in communications, marketing coordination, agency account coordination, executive assistance, or a similar organized content-focused role.
• Strong writing, editing, and content-generation skills.
• Fluency with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for drafting, research, and process improvement.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, judgment, and discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, and a project management tool such as Asana.
• Ability to work on-site in Kearny, NJ. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Nice to have

• Experience in deep tech, energy, hardware, aerospace, scientific organizations, or early-stage startups.
• Experience with internal communications, employer branding, recruitment marketing, or complex technical topics.
• Ability to build simple tools, automations, or AI agents; coding experience is a plus.
• Design, photo, video editing, CMS, intranet, event, or conference coordination experience.
