Summer 2027 Communications Internship

Location: Office-based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States.

What you will do

• Collaborate with a manager and communications professionals on department initiatives and meaningful business projects.
• Write and edit content, articles, leadership messaging, and communications materials.
• Support internal communications, employee communications, executive communications, media relations, and public relations activities.
• Develop content for philanthropic, community relations, and corporate responsibility initiatives.
• Research industry trends and contribute to communications strategies, narrative building, social media, and brand storytelling.
• Participate in professional development sessions, team projects, volunteer activities, and internship events.

Requirements

• High school graduate and currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate university program.
• Must have at least one quarter or semester of school remaining after the summer program.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities or work experience.
• Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be authorized to work full time in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Study in communications, journalism, public relations, English, human resources, or a related field.
• Coursework in strategic communications, media writing, digital media, marketing communications, journalism, news writing, or reporting.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, familiarity with AP Style, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
• Strong interest in banking, corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or digital media.
