Chemist I - VOA Air GC (Gas Chromatography)

Location: Tustin, California, USA; onsite laboratory position. Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with possible overtime.

Compensation: $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using gas chromatography and EPA protocols.
• Evaluate chromatographic data against qualitative and quantitative criteria.
• Monitor production backlogs and manage workload to meet client program requirements.
• Upload and peer review data in the laboratory information management system.
• Prepare standards and reagents, maintain instrument calibrations, and perform basic instrument maintenance and repair.
• Maintain an organized, safe laboratory and follow environmental health and safety programs.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience operating a gas chromatograph in a production laboratory.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field; three years of laboratory experience may substitute for the degree.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, manage time, multitask, and work independently from written and verbal instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
