Senior Network Engineer (Cloud & Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Mateo, CA, the surrounding San Francisco region, or Seattle, WA. Limited travel to hirify.global sites may be required.

What you will do

• Design, architect, deploy, and maintain routing, switching, WLAN, firewall, WAN, VPN, and hybrid cloud connectivity across data centers, on-premises sites, remote offices, AWS, and Azure.
• Develop network automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions for provisioning, monitoring, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Partner with cloud, platform, security, and infrastructure engineering teams to create standardized network architectures and self-service capabilities.
• Monitor and improve network performance, availability, resiliency, and security posture while conducting capacity planning.
• Execute network and firewall changes, upgrades, patching, maintenance activities, and advanced troubleshooting in accordance with governance processes.
• Maintain operational documentation, coordinate with vendors, support escalations, and mentor operational teams.

Requirements

• Expertise in network routing, switching, and security architectures.
• Proficiency with at least one network operating system such as NX-OS, JunOS, or Arista EOS, and one network security operating system such as PAN-OS or FortiOS.
• Experience with firewall management, segmentation, VPN technologies, and scalable connectivity between on-premises systems and cloud networks.
• Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or 6+ years of relevant experience with a professional certification such as CCNP, JNCIS, or VCP-NV.
• Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, communication, and independent delivery skills; participation in an on-call rotation is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with WLAN technologies, 802.1X, RADIUS, NAC, ZTNA, SASE, Prisma, Zscaler, or Cato.
• Working knowledge of VMware, Windows, or Linux administration.
• Project management, leadership, coaching, and presentation experience.
