Lead Software Engineer (Java/AWS/AI)

Salary: $148,300–$198,800 per year, plus potential bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and personally build scalable software systems, web applications, APIs, and RESTful services from technical specifications through delivery.
• Set solution and application architecture direction, evaluate technology choices, and develop proofs of concept and technical roadmaps.
• Own dining and bookable experience reservation systems, including inventory, availability, offers, and reservation functionality.
• Integrate and support databases, messaging, orchestration platforms, and AWS infrastructure across production and lower environments.
• Embed AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Q, Claude, and Kiro across design, coding, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Lead code and design reviews, testing, root-cause analysis, mentoring, and cross-functional delivery with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building large-scale software systems and web applications while leading engineering teams and projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 21+, Spring, microservices, RESTful APIs, AWS, DynamoDB, Aurora, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with enterprise architecture repositories, architecture taxonomies, patterns, standards, strategic objectives, OKRs, and scorecards.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, API-led integration, security-by-design, data architecture, distributed production systems, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with inventory optimization and preventing reservation overbooking, plus the ability to lead complex projects independently.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, software, electrical, or electronics engineering.

• Experience in Disney, food and beverage, or attractions and entertainment domains.
