Senior Engineer (AI)

Location: Brazil; remote. The team requires at least 6 hours of overlap with PST, from 8 am to 2 pm PST.

What you will do

• Work directly with intelligence analysts to understand workflows, constraints, and goals, then translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Identify high-impact opportunities to improve intelligence collection and productize solutions for durable adoption.
• Design, build, and own AI-powered internal applications, including backend services, APIs, data storage, infrastructure, and user interfaces.
• Develop agentic solutions using modern AI models such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini.
• Own projects end to end, from technical design and architecture through delivery, iteration, and ongoing support.
• Build reliable systems, evaluate their impact, and support internal tools through an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience building scalable web applications, services, and APIs.
• Strong product sense and the ability to identify high-impact, scalable solutions that users continue to adopt.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with strong backend and systems engineering skills.
• Experience with backend systems, APIs, and datastores such as Postgres, pgvector, Pinecone, and Redis.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, modern AI models, agentic IDEs, or AI-enabled workflows and prototypes.
• Strong ownership, independent execution in ambiguous environments, and communication with semi-technical stakeholders.
