Bilingual Senior Disability Claims Consultant (Insurance)

What you will do

• Coach and develop disability claims specialists and consultants.
• Monitor and improve the quality of short- and long-term disability case management.
• Review and correct disability management files, reports, communications, interview letters, and decision letters.
• Manage action plans and make or recommend decisions on highly complex disability claims.
• Support collaboration with members, employers, healthcare providers, physicians, lawyers, and internal teams.
• Monitor claim milestones, treatment progress, required support, and case plan outcomes.

Requirements

• University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline.
• At least five years of disability case management experience with an insurer or government agency, including short- and long-term disability claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reviewing and correcting claimant, provider, physician, employer, human resources, and legal communications.
• Strong knowledge of contract wording and the ability to analyze disability management trend reports, medical reports, Independent Medical Exams, Functional Capacity Evaluations, surveillance, and medical consultant reviews.
• Deep understanding of healthcare and insurance, health-related terminology, accommodation, and return-to-work concepts.
• English and French bilingualism is required for daily collaboration with teams and partners in Canada.

• Background in training or coaching, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, logically, tactfully, and sensitively.
