What you will do

• Identify patients and verify test requisitions before specimen collection.
• Collect blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks while maintaining aseptic technique and specimen integrity.
• Track collections, record collection times, maintain daily tallies, and document quality-control results.
• Resolve unusual or unclear test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, answer and triage billing questions, and coordinate courier pickups through FedEx or Medspeed.
• Handle paper and electronic PHI while following HIPAA, security, safety, legal, and hospital requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• Ability to follow professional, hospital, federal, state, local, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work onsite in Clarksville, Tennessee, in an office setting with scrubs required.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, policy compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire.
