Triage Specialist

What you will do

• Evaluate triage cases and coordinate with client services to resolve issues promptly.
• Follow up on pending and on-hold samples to support turnaround times and reduce backlog.
• Open packages and accession specimens according to established protocols.
• Scan, verify, and file paperwork for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
• Contribute to triage process improvements and support routine and non-routine departmental operations.
• Help orient and train new department members while maintaining laboratory cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience as a Triage Specialist, or an associate degree with more than 6 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in triage operations and accurate specimen processing.
• Ability to maintain productivity, quality, punctuality, and dependability under changing demands.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work around potential bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
• Ability to comply with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and laboratory safety standards.
