Software Engineer, Software Factory (Partner 16, Partner 18)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; in-office presence required 2–3 days per week

Salary: $269,000–$314,000 for Software Engineer (Partner 16) or $301,000–$352,000 for Senior Software Engineer (Partner 18), annually

What you will do

• Improve and support the internal developer platform and its diverse applications.
• Build and maintain shared tooling, templates, and internal libraries that accelerate development.
• Deploy and operate services with observability, monitoring, alerting, and production support.
• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to meet security and compliance requirements.
• Create developer documentation, onboarding guides, and operational runbooks.
• Iterate on platform improvements based on feedback from internal users and partner with engineering and firm-wide teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, or similar backend languages, with willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience defining and shipping developer platforms or internal tooling that improved engineering velocity.
• Experience deploying services on GCP, AWS, or Azure and working with Docker-based services.
• Exposure to CI/CD systems and production SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong problem-solving, technical, communication, collaboration, and operational skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi.
