Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; remote, hybrid, and onsite work options are available. An active Texas bar license is required.

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, plus eligibility for an annual billable-hours bonus.

What you will do

• Develop case strategies that address complex legal and factual issues.
• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, discovery, and trials.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and build relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across experience levels.
• Mentor and guide junior attorneys.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar license in Texas.
• 1–8 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial.
• Experience with litigation timekeeping and billing systems.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
