Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: New York City, NY; office, home, or hybrid arrangements available. An active New York State bar license is required.

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop case strategies that address emotional arguments and support strong defense outcomes.
• Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, trials, and full caseloads from discovery through trial.
• Communicate professionally with clients and build relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across experience levels.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar license in the State of New York.
• 1–8 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload.
• Familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with strong critical-thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
