Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Onsite in Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 annual base salary for Sunnyvale; additional compensation may include performance bonuses and stock.

What you will do

• Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams.
• Design, implement, test, document, and support scalable services, APIs, and AI/ML components.
• Write clean, reliable code across multiple languages and manage CI/CD and automated testing.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs to build secure, maintainable, high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, defect management, performance monitoring, and observability improvements.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a relevant bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, documentation-based coding, debugging, code review, and continuous development.
• Experience delivering software through the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
• Experience integrating AI/ML components and using generative AI tools to improve development efficiency.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
