Assistant Professor, Nursing Practice

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas; faculty members are required to be physically on campus as needed.

What you will do

• Teach nursing students and ensure alignment with course objectives, program outcomes, teaching standards, clinical practice, simulation, and safety requirements.
• Develop and maintain an active program of nursing research and scholarship, pursue external funding, and disseminate findings through publications and presentations.
• Mentor and advise students, support recruitment, and supervise Doctor of Nursing Practice student projects.
• Maintain content and clinical expertise while contributing to academic, clinical, and simulation education.
• Participate in college, university, professional, and community service, including committees and interprofessional activities.

Requirements

• Research-focused PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution; the degree must be conferred by the appointment date. Advanced ABD candidates may be considered.
• Current, unencumbered RN and/or APRN license in Texas by the appointment date.
• Demonstrated record of high-quality teaching and the ability to work effectively with interprofessional groups.
• Evidence of leadership capability and potential to establish a funded program of research and scholarship.

Nice to have

• Postdoctoral education or training.
• Experience coordinating academic nursing programs and teaching classroom or didactic courses.
• Experience with nursing program approvals, national accreditation, and online or in-person didactic teaching.
• Professional service experience at local or national levels.
• Experience collaborating across disciplines and with community practice partners.
