VN Nurse Instructor (Nursing)

Location: Bakersfield, California, USA; campus-based. Weekend shifts are Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch.

Compensation: USD 45.00–60.00 per hour; typical hiring range is USD 45.00–52.80 per hour.

What you will do

• Teach vocational nursing lecture content and clinical rotations.
• Mentor students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
• Improve instructional quality by applying innovative teaching methodologies and online learning activities.
• Review and revise course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, grades, skills check-off forms, clinical files, and other student records.
• Submit program reports, participate in professional development and committees, and stay current with nursing technologies and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Current RN or LVN licensure in the state where teaching is performed.
• At least 3 years of recent bedside experience with a BSN, or at least 6 years of recent bedside experience with an LVN degree.
• Ability to meet faculty requirements established by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Current knowledge of nursing practice and clinical settings, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification.
