Associate Professor, Nursing Practice

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; physical presence on the Corpus Christi campus is required as needed

What you will do

• Teach nursing students in classroom, clinical, and simulation settings.
• Maintain an active program of nursing research and scholarship.
• Seek external funding and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other scholarly venues.
• Mentor and advise students, recruit learners, and supervise DNP student projects.
• Maintain clinical and content expertise and ensure adherence to program policies, outcomes, safety measures, and teaching best practices.
• Participate in college, university, professional, and community service activities.

Requirements

• Research-focused PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current unencumbered RN and/or APRN license in the State of Texas by the appointment date.
• Established research and scholarship program with a record of successful funding.
• Experience in higher education, including classroom and/or clinical teaching.
• At least five years of experience at the Assistant Professor or comparable rank for appointment at Associate Professor rank.
• Ability to contribute to the academic mission through required on-campus presence.

Nice to have

• Postdoctoral education or training.
• Experience coordinating academic nursing programs or teaching nursing leadership and management.
• Graduate-level teaching experience and professional service at local or national levels.
• Experience developing and delivering web-based courses.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with community practice partners.
