Commercial Construction Project Engineer (2027)

Location: Austin, TX, United States; fully onsite for the 12-month training program, with commuting to jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius of the assigned office

What you will do

• Complete a structured, one-year development program with mentorship, hands-on learning, and recurring performance reviews.
• Support jobsite operations, including office setup, construction records, project directories, daily reports, submittal logs, RFI logs, and subcontractor correspondence.
• Assist with site protection, construction activities, inspections, as-built drawings, coordination drawings, project schedules, material take-offs, supplier orders, and deliveries.
• Support superintendents with survey and layout instruments, subcontractor foremen meetings, testing and report interpretation, and quality-control activities.
• Assist project managers with budgeting, logistics, client management, and cost-impact analysis.
• Support the corporate safety program through weekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or business strongly preferred.
• Previous commercial jobsite experience strongly preferred, with demonstrated interest in construction and onsite work.
• Ability to learn Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, JD Edwards, and project-specific software.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work fully onsite and commute to assigned jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius.
