Commercial Construction Project Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; fully onsite for the 12-month training program. The role requires commuting to jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius of the assigned office.

What you will do

• Participate in the paid HITT Futures Program through a structured 12-month onsite training and development plan.
• Support jobsite operations, including maintaining project records, construction documents, daily reports, submittal logs, RFI logs, and subcontractor correspondence.
• Assist with inspections, quality and workmanship reviews, project schedules, material take-offs, supplier orders, deliveries, and survey and layout activities.
• Interpret basic coordination drawings, as-built drawings, construction tests, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and foremen, including leading meetings when directed.
• Support safety activities by conducting toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and required safety reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or business is strongly preferred.
• Previous commercial jobsite experience and a strong interest in construction and onsite work are preferred.
• Ability to learn Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, JD Edwards, and other project software.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Availability for fully onsite work and commuting to jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius of the assigned office is required.
