TL;DR
Associate Fuel Portfolio Analyst (Energy/Fuel Procurement): Supporting fuel procurement and portfolio operations for coal, natural gas, and diesel through scheduling, logistics, reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting with an accent on utility fuel operations and data-driven financial control. Focus on coordinating natural gas and coal deliveries, analyzing fuel costs and trends, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate forecasts, budgets, and compliance reports.

Location: Orlando, Florida, USA; hybrid work schedule available after the training period. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $39.26–$58.89 per hour, estimated at $81,660.80–$122,491.20 annually, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

  • Coordinate natural gas trading and scheduling, including reconciliations, reporting, and updates to daily operating plans.
  • Monitor fuel data for natural gas and coal and prepare recurring operational, inventory, train status, resale, purchased power, and transmission reports.
  • Support coal train processing, shipment tracking, delivered-coal reporting, coal quality adjustments, and diesel fuel orders.
  • Review and code Fuel, Purchased Power, Minority Plant, and Transmission invoices for payment.
  • Prepare fuel procurement bids, RFP materials, commission agenda items, management reports, budget variance analyses, and accounting support spreadsheets.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, support regulatory and market monitoring, and assist with fuel-related financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least six months of experience supporting business operations such as purchasing, logistics, billing, or finance is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of invoice processing, logistics, purchasing, financial data analysis, reporting, budget tracking, and financial records.
  • Intermediate mathematical and analytical skills, strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; familiarity with CC&B, JD Edwards, and Hubble is expected.
  • Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the utilities industry and utility operations.
  • Familiarity with applicable invoice, purchasing, and reporting software and governmental accounting practices.
