TL;DR
Intermediate Compliance & Process Analyst (Claims, Audit & Tax Focus) (Insurance Compliance and Process Improvement): Supporting regulatory audits, market conduct exams, compliance reporting, and corrective action initiatives with an accent on insurance claims operations, tax reporting, and Lean Six Sigma. Focus on analyzing and improving regulated processes, coordinating cross-functional projects, and preparing information for regulators and leadership.

Location: Hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office, Tuesday through Thursday, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, or Denver, Colorado. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Salary: $61,000–$72,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for a 7.5% annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Support compliance programs and enterprise-wide solutions responding to regulatory and internal process changes.
  • Analyze information and prepare reports and responses for management, state insurance departments, securities regulators, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide documentation and information for compliance audits, internal audits, market conduct exams, and divisional audit programs.
  • Collaborate with business units and leadership to analyze, evaluate, and improve processes while defining project tasks and timelines.
  • Lead team meetings, communicate updates, and support corrective action, business continuity, cost-benefit, and Lean process initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three years of experience in insurance or financial services and three years of compliance and/or process improvement experience.
  • Understanding of insurance and securities laws, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments of moderate scope and complexity while managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma principles, MS Office, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with three weekly office days in Cedar Rapids or Denver.

Nice to have

  • Annuity claims experience or strong knowledge of end-to-end claims processing.
  • Experience supporting audits, market conduct exams, regulatory reviews, or compliance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of tax reporting, tax withholding, or other regulated financial processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and corrective action plans.
  • Lean Six Sigma Blue Belt certification.
