HR / People Lead (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; on-site / hybrid

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 base salary per year, plus startup equity

What you will do

• Own and scale People Operations and HR infrastructure across the employee lifecycle.
• Design and manage onboarding workflows from talent acquisition handoff through employee integration.
• Manage payroll, benefits, employee relations, compliance, and core HR operations.
• Coordinate immigration and visa filings with external legal counsel.
• Partner with leadership, finance, engineering teams, employees, and external vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner, People Specialist, or People Operations Lead in fast-paced technology environments.
• Hands-on experience with onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and compliance.
• Experience with startup HR platforms, including PEO, payroll, benefits, and ATS tools.
• Experience managing immigration and visa workflows with external legal counsel.
• Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience in both high-growth startups and established technology companies.
• Experience operating as a sole individual contributor or strategic lead in a fast-moving 0-to-1 environment.
• Familiarity with cross-border HR logistics, international PEO structures, or APAC HR partnerships.
