Senior Product Manager, Asta (AI): Owning the engineering and data frameworks for Asta, an agentic platform for scientific research, alongside the Semantic Scholar data platform, public APIs, and scientific-agent benchmarks with an accent on translating researcher workflows into engineering requirements, roadmap sequencing, and platform reliability. Focus on building feedback loops between research and engineering, driving adoption, managing compliance requirements, and defining evaluation standards for scientific agents.

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; expected to work from the Seattle offices

Salary: $115,920–$173,880 base annually, plus bonus plans and a long-term incentive plan

hirify.global is a Seattle-based nonprofit AI research institute developing open models, data, robotics, conservation, and other AI research for real-world impact.

What you will do

  • Define engineering requirements for Asta by translating researcher workflows into prioritized specifications.
  • Build and sequence the roadmap for Asta’s agentic framework, supporting tools, and researcher adoption.
  • Manage execution across engineering workstreams, including dependencies, priorities, tradeoffs, and feedback between research and engineering.
  • Own the Semantic Scholar data platform and public APIs, balancing reliability for millions of users with platform modernization.
  • Set the direction for AstaBench and establish benchmarking and evaluation standards for scientific agents.
  • Own product compliance and governance requirements, including data access, deletion, privacy, and regulatory obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5–8+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience shipping developer-facing or research-facing products such as APIs, platforms, or tools for technical users.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous, research-driven needs into engineering requirements and sequenced roadmaps.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering teams on technical platforms and day-to-day prioritization.
  • Interest in AI research, agentic systems, and scientific discovery, with the ability to learn technical domains quickly.
  • Must work from the Seattle office and have authorization to work in the United States; employment authorization is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

  • Experience with agent frameworks, LLM tooling, orchestration platforms, or evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience building public-facing developer products, APIs, or benchmarks for external research communities.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy and governance regulations.
  • Experience in a research organization, national laboratory, or academic environment.
