Field Service Technician Product Inspection (Industrial Equipment)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; 100% U.S. travel with occasional international travel and frequent overnight stays.

Salary: $31–$34 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide start-up, audit, maintenance, repair, and training support for Safeline X-Ray, metal detector, checkweigher, and CI Vision equipment.
• Execute scheduled service calls while balancing customer needs, time, and cost requirements.
• Diagnose root causes and deliver first-time fixes for service issues.
• Coordinate with customers, dispatch, service teams, and management while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Prepare service reports, documentation, timesheets, and expense reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain company equipment, tools, inventory, and ongoing technical training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in electronics or engineering technology, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, conveyor systems, AC/DC electrical distribution systems, and Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital test equipment; ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, conflict-management, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, industrial tools, noisy or humid environments, damp areas, allergens, and potentially explosive atmospheres.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to drive long distances, travel throughout the United States, work irregular hours, lift up to 75 pounds, and obtain and maintain a valid passport.
