Senior Business Analyst (Site Reliability Engineering)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia; eligible for remote work

Salary: $95,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Partner with Site Reliability Engineering, Production Support, IT, and business stakeholders to improve processes supporting customer-facing platforms.
• Map operational processes, identify capability gaps, and define functional requirements for monitoring, alerting, reconciliation, reporting, and coordination tooling.
• Plan and coordinate major operational events, including exam results releases and maintenance windows, and maintain playbooks, templates, and retrospectives.
• Define dashboards that surface incidents, data mismatches, and performance trends, partnering with engineers to deliver and validate them.
• Facilitate post-incident reviews, problem-management forums, and vendor SLA reviews while maintaining supporting documentation and datasets.
• Lead requirements gathering, user stories, acceptance criteria, roadmaps, business cases, user communication, training, and ongoing support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience as a business analyst or in product management, project management, engineering, or IT service management.
• Strong analytical, documentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience translating business requirements into clear specifications for technical teams.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment on organization-wide initiatives and in a global, remote setting.
• Familiarity with IT service management concepts is beneficial; exposure to Jira, Confluence, Grafana, AWS, Azure, NetSuite, or BigCommerce is a plus.
