Claims Data Analyst (Property and Casualty Insurance)

Location: Hybrid in Short Hills, New Jersey, United States.

Salary: USD $83,000–$108,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain claims reporting platforms and delivery methods.
• Build and maintain monthly claims legal and operational reporting packages, including dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Power BI, Cognos, Microsoft Excel, and legal platforms.
• Support ad-hoc analytical requests using Team Connect, Legal X, and claims financial and transactional platforms and databases.
• Analyze audit data on law firm and litigation support vendor performance and recommend ways to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
• Produce descriptive analytics, metrics, trends, tables, charts, graphs, and executive summaries for Executive Leadership.
• Document data extraction, cleaning, and analysis processes; train Claims teams and system users on processes, functionality, and procedures.

Requirements

• Knowledge of claims financial and transactional platforms and databases.
• Experience developing analytics and reporting and providing actionable, data-driven recommendations, or a Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos, or claims management platforms.
• Ability to generate reports and build dashboards using Cognos Analytics.
• Expert proficiency in standard business software applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Property and casualty industry knowledge.
• Strong collaborative relationship-building, organizational, time management, and project prioritization skills.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to clearly express ideas through documentation.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
