Multimedia Producer (AI)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; hybrid schedule with in-person work three days a week or more

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Produce discussion, interview, podcast, video, and audio content while supporting talent with lighting, framing, recording, and quality standards.
• Edit long-form audio and video, create short-form social clips, and prepare branded intro and outro assets.
• Write copy for LinkedIn posts and YouTube Shorts, then upload and optimize content across YouTube and other distribution platforms.
• Manage recording calendars, provide real-time technical support, and maintain an organized media asset library.
• Track podcast analytics, improve distribution workflows, and implement AI tools and automations.
• Collaborate with Editorial and Audience teams and train journalists on multimedia technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in video and audio editing and production, ideally in or alongside newsrooms.
• Strong knowledge of audio and video recording practices, equipment, multimedia distribution, and platform analytics.
• Experience with remote recording platforms such as Riverside or StreamYard and with project management tools.
• Experience creating and optimizing content for YouTube, LinkedIn, Spotify, and other social platforms.
• Understanding of journalism principles, excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, work independently, and collaborate across departments.
