TL;DR
Accounting Summer Intern (Fintech): Supporting financial reporting and accounting operations for digital banking and lending products with an accent on journal entries, account reconciliations, cash transaction analysis, and loan portfolio monitoring. Focus on researching reconciling items, improving accounting procedures, using SQL-based data visualization tools, and presenting analytical conclusions.
Location: Hybrid at the downtown Chicago HQ, with in-office attendance twice per week. Candidates must be local or able to relocate independently; relocation assistance is not provided.

What you will do
- Prepare journal entries, analyze financial statements, and perform account reconciliations.
- Reconcile high-volume cash transactions and research discrepancies in the loan management system.
- Help streamline accounting processes and procedures.
- Support the Accounting Manager with strategic projects and assist other Accounting team members.
- Track real-time loan portfolio performance using SQL-based data visualization tools.
Requirements
- Incoming or current senior in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, complete assignments, and present analysis conclusions to senior management in an organized manner.
- Availability for 40 hours per week from May through August 2027.
