Senior Cloud Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Salary: $122,000–$180,000 USD per year, depending on location, job family, background, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Serve as a cloud security subject matter expert and provide guidance on defense-in-depth strategies and industry best practices.
• Design, deploy, and enforce security and operational controls across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments.
• Partner with technology teams and stakeholders to resolve security configuration issues and support security initiatives.
• Perform technical risk assessments and verify that new technologies meet secure architecture requirements.
• Assess the impact of security deficiencies, communicate risks, and recommend mitigations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience implementing security solutions.
• Strong cybersecurity knowledge, including threat vectors, countermeasures, cloud infrastructure, and cloud security.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix, Windows, networking, network domains, communication protocols, and host security.
• Experience with security technologies including antivirus and anti-malware, SIEM, SOAR, vulnerability scanning, DLP, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
• Strong scripting and infrastructure-as-code experience, plus familiarity with SOC 1/SOC 2, HITRUST, and ISO frameworks.
• Strong communication, presentation, partnership, and leadership skills, including experience working with virtual teams in a global environment.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and operationalizing a vulnerability management program.
• Experience with container-based architectures.
• Security or cloud certifications.
