Research Support Officer

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Gold Coast, Southport, or Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia; work across other university locations may be required.

Salary: AUD 104,504–113,219 per year plus 17% employer superannuation. Total FTE package: AUD 122,270–132,466 per year.

What you will do

• Lead research development initiatives, research groups, capacity-building programs, and strategic projects.
• Provide research advice to senior leaders, researchers, and committees on priorities, opportunities, governance, and strategy.
• Coordinate grant development activities, funding opportunities, and collaborative research partnerships.
• Implement communication, engagement, and knowledge translation activities to increase research visibility and impact.
• Analyse research data, prepare reports and briefings, and support research planning, governance, and decision-making.

Requirements

• Relevant postgraduate qualification and/or substantial experience in research development, research management, higher education administration, or a related field.
• Experience leading research development initiatives, strategic projects, research groups, or capacity-building programs in complex organisations.
• Experience supporting research funding, facilitating collaboration, and building relationships with researchers and external stakeholders.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience improving research visibility, engagement, reputation, and impact.
• Ability to analyse complex information, prepare high-quality reports, and provide evidence-based strategic advice.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia required; visa sponsorship is not available.
