TL;DR

Location: Onsite at a health center in High Point, North Carolina, United States. Scheduled hours are Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What you will do

  • Provide occupational healthcare to client employees, including injury follow-ups, emergency injury response, physicals, and return-to-work evaluations.
  • Perform injections, suturing, wound care, infection management, and diagnostic testing.
  • Evaluate fitness for duty, develop care plans, document patient progress, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Manage injured-worker cases, transitional duty programs, and evidence-based return-to-work plans in collaboration with the TPA and client.
  • Partner with physicians, an onsite physical therapist, nursing staff, safety teams, and client stakeholders on patient care, ergonomics, health promotion, surveillance, and injury prevention.
  • Educate patients and nursing staff, refer patients to specialists when needed, and maintain complete health records.

Requirements

  • Current RN and nurse practitioner licenses or certificates, applicable state prescriptive authority, and a federal DEA license matching each state of practice.
  • Current national certification from ANCC or AANP and a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required based on the contract scope.
  • At least three years of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice, or an emergency department.
  • Suturing and wound care experience required.
  • Experience with site visits and safety teams to mitigate workplace hazards.

Nice to have

  • Occupational health certification such as COHN, COHN-S, or COHN-S/CM.
  • Occupational health experience.
  • Urgent care, emergency room, or community health experience.
