Structural Engineer (Revit)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Four-day in-office work model with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

What you will do

• Develop structural designs from concept through construction completion for a wide range of building types.
• Prepare engineering calculations, structural system layouts, reports, and narratives.
• Coordinate structural requirements with architects, engineers, clients, and other disciplines.
• Produce construction documents using Revit and write or review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and conduct site visits when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• 8–15 years of building structural engineering experience.
• Experience designing concrete, masonry, steel, and wood structures, including gravity and lateral systems.
• Working knowledge of structural software including ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, or Enercalc.
• Knowledge of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies, with strong problem-solving, creativity, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
• Experience or interest in sustainable building design.
• Experience with BIM and Autodesk Revit workflows.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
