Claim Technician (Medical Claims)

Location: Springfield, Illinois, United States. Onsite training is required in the Springfield office; full-time work from home becomes available after successful completion of all training requirements.

Base pay: $17.75–$26.17 per hour.

What you will do

• Process complex medical claims requiring additional investigation.
• Coordinate benefits and resolve pended claims.
• Perform accurate data entry and claims processing under supervision.
• Apply medical claims procedures and relevant terminology.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Data entry and/or typing experience.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience processing medical claims.
• Complete required onsite training in the Springfield, Illinois office.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Completion of the six-to-eight-week Blue Chip claims processing system training, or the ability to complete the training class.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding.
• Knowledge of coordination of benefits principles and terminology.
• Experience multitasking and prioritizing.
• Ability to meet the applicable testing criteria.
