Quality Engineer Co-Op (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the San Luis Obispo, California manufacturing facility; full-time, 6-month co-op assignment from January through June, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Salary: $20-$30 per hour, depending on overall qualifications.

What you will do

• Support Material Review Board, nonconformance, and corrective action investigations.
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with process improvement, validation, risk assessment, and engineering change activities.
• Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, documentation, metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
• Participate in internal audits and quality system compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams and present findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Available for a full-time, 6-month co-op assignment and able to work onsite in the San Luis Obispo manufacturing facility.
• Entering the junior or senior year preferred, with graduation expected within 12-24 months after completing the co-op; graduation years 2027, 2028, or 2029 preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Must not require hirify.global immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with statistical analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or quality improvement methodologies.
• Previous internship, co-op, laboratory, or manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, ISO 9001, or semiconductor manufacturing.
