Director of Facilities

Location: Remote, USA

What you will do

• Oversee daily facilities operations, including maintenance, security, janitorial services, and vendor management.
• Develop facilities, reliability, space-planning, and workplace-design strategies aligned with company growth.
• Manage facilities budgets, capital expenditures, leases, contracts, and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Lead office expansions, renovations, build-outs, site launches, and operational-readiness handoffs.
• Establish preventive-maintenance programs, escalation routines, vendor standards, and risk-closure mechanisms.
• Partner with IT, People Ops, Safety, Real Estate/Construction, and leadership to improve workplace experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Significant leadership experience in facilities management, maintenance/reliability, workplace operations, or a related field.
• Experience managing small and large office or site environments, preferably in a high-growth or technology company.
• Experience launching new offices or facilities, including design, construction coordination, and operational readiness.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, vendor management, budgets, contracts, and capital projects.
• Ability to identify technical, safety, and compliance risks and drive issues to closure using a proactive, data-driven approach.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed for site readiness and vendor coordination.

Nice to have

• Experience in fulfillment, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, robotics, parcel, ecommerce, or other high-throughput environments.
• Experience with conveyors, sorters, MHE, dock equipment, automated material handling, WCS/WES interfaces, and building systems.
• Experience developing preventive-maintenance programs, scorecards, inspection routines, critical-spares processes, and maintenance operating mechanisms.
• Experience with greenfield launches, brownfield retrofits, tenant improvements, startup readiness, or network expansion.
• Military, engineering, technical operations, or field leadership background.
