Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in NYC, NY, five days a week in Midtown Manhattan, with potential travel to customer sites

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 USD per year

AI-native seed-stage startup building an IT service and configuration management platform using AI, graph-based architecture, and enterprise integrations.

What you will do

• Deploy the platform inside enterprise environments and map customer service workflows.
• Develop and improve production integrations, data pipelines, agent workflows, and internal tooling.
• Connect the platform to ticketing, identity, device management, knowledge-base, and other enterprise systems.
• Own live deployments, progressing from a deployment component to full deployment ownership.
• Share customer insights with the product team to improve enterprise service operations.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional software development experience, or a strong engineering degree and an internship involving shipped software.
• Comfort with Python and TypeScript, or the ability to become productive with them within two months.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and working with messy, undocumented production data.
• Ability and willingness to work directly with customers and remain effective through unglamorous project work.
• Ability to work on-site five days a week in Midtown Manhattan, with potential travel to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLM agents, tool use, retrieval, or evaluations.
• Exposure to ITSM, CMDB, or enterprise IT operations.
• Two years of technical consulting or solutions engineering experience combined with a strong interest in software development.
