Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, California, USA

Base salary: $200,000–$280,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Build and ship customer-facing products and core platform capabilities across backend, data, infrastructure, and frontend surfaces.
• Design and operate high-volume data pipelines and services with strong reliability, security, and observability.
• Build and operate AI agents, agent harnesses, and developer tools at very large scale.
• Make architecture decisions, explain tradeoffs, and iterate designs as assumptions change.
• Work directly with founders and customers to turn ambiguous requests into product decisions and production software.
• Use modern AI tools while maintaining engineering judgment and accountability.

Requirements

• 1–6 years of relevant professional engineering experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and experience owning a production system from concept through ongoing operations.
• Strong backend coding skills, including APIs, data models, and distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native development, including LLMs, agent frameworks, and related tooling.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, California, USA; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience at an early-stage startup from seed through Series A or B.
• Experience with identity resolution, data enrichment, or matching systems at scale.
• Rigorous academic background in computer science or a related field.
