AI Solutions Architect (Epic)

Location: Hybrid, with regular in-office attendance required in San Francisco, California; Sacramento, California is also listed as a position location. Monday–Friday schedule with weekend work as needed.

Salary: $163,425.60–$245,148.80 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Design and lead end-to-end AI solutions from concept through production.
• Translate business problems into scalable architectures spanning data pipelines, model development or selection, MLOps, governance, and platform integration.
• Partner with product, data science, engineering, cloud platform, application, informatics, operations, and clinical stakeholders.
• Establish standards for AI safety, reliability, and observability, including monitoring, drift, bias, and performance controls.
• Guide build-versus-buy decisions, vendor integrations, and the creation of reference architectures.
• Drive measurable improvements in outcomes, efficiency, and user experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute.
• At least 8 years of recent relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise strategic architecture frameworks and server and storage platforms.
• Expert knowledge of visualization technologies and strong technical and user-level documentation skills.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills across executive, managerial, technical, and clinical audiences.
• Ability to commute consistently to the San Francisco office for required in-person collaboration.

Nice to have

• Core Epic certification in EpicCare Ambulatory or EpicCare Inpatient, including Clinical Documentation or Procedure Orders.
• Major Epic certification in Healthy Planet, Optime/Anesthesia, Resolute Professional Billing, Resolute Hospital Billing, ASAP, or Radiant.
• Experience building and deploying Epic-released AI features, predictive models, or advanced workflow solutions.
• Working knowledge of generative AI, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted workflow design.
