Development Engineer, Principal (DevOps)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; office environment required. Occasional travel within the continental United States may be required.

Salary: $133,500–$203,750 per year

What you will do

• Design, deliver, and support corporate DevOps pipeline operations for automated software releases.
• Administer and maintain GitLab and Subversion, including branching, tagging, merging, and release management.
• Create and maintain Docker images, containers, software installation tools, processes, and packages.
• Automate manual processes and enhance build infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps processes.
• Develop DevOps processes and policies and reuse common code across programs and projects.
• Work with multiple software development groups, internal customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership while providing guidance and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 12+ years of experience managing diverse DevOps operations and tools such as GitLab or GitHub.
• 5+ years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and service discovery across Windows and Linux hosts.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as Azure or AWS, and strong scripting skills.
• Experience delivering applications in mid-size corporations with 2,000+ staff.
• Current U.S. Citizenship is required; the role is subject to ITAR/EAR requirements.
